In recent years, the rights for employees with family responsibilities have expanded considerably. The legislation is complex and continually evolving. It is essential for HR practitioners to have a good understanding of the legal provisions in order to create family-friendly polices and practices that align with the needs of their organisation. This workshop will cover the following areas:

  • Influencing senior management to ensure implementation of policies and best practice
  • Supporting line managers in working with employees
  • Managing transition out and back in to the workplace.

Mentor Training

People consistently cite a chance to 'learn and grow' as a reason to stay with their employer. If they are not sufficiently stimulated and challenged within the organisation, then they will either leave or become unproductive. Mentoring is becoming increasingly key in supporting career development and promotion, particularly for women into and in senior management roles.

We can provide training for mentors to equip them with the skills and practical tools to mentor women returners. We can also train individuals to become facilitators for groups of women returners who would benefit from group mentoring (similar to action learning sets) whilst gaining the opportunity to network with other women returners. Our mentoring workshop covers the following areas.

  • Introduction to mentoring
  • The mentoring process and model
  • Issues of women returners
  • Skills, values and ethics
